Located in Newmarket, Ontario within the TRS Custom Drums facility, RNM Productions is a full-service recording studio specializing in drums & percussion. With over 35 years of experience, we provide high-quality audio and video production, CD/DVD duplication, and artwork design for both emerging and established artists.
Our studio offers a comfortable and creative environment with exceptional acoustics, perfect for capturing the nuances of any instrument. We utilize cutting-edge digital recording technology and a vast collection of vintage and custom drums to bring your musical vision to life.

Digital Recording Capabilities
Capture your music with pristine clarity using our state-of-the-art digital recording systems. We offer various software options and high-resolution recording capabilities (up to 32-bit/192kHz) to ensure exceptional audio quality. Our flexible recording environment supports both MIDI and audio, providing limitless possibilities for your creative vision.
Mixing and Mastering
Achieve a polished, professional sound with our Mackie 32/8 bus analog recording console. This versatile console provides precise control and a wide dynamic range, allowing for detailed mixdowns with up to 72 inputs. We seamlessly integrate our digital audio workstations (DAWs) with the analog console, giving you the best of both worlds.
Instruments and Equipment
Enhance your sound with our diverse selection of instruments and equipment, including guitars, amps, keyboards, unique custom drums supplied by TRS, and various instrument options through our partnership with Coll-Audio. RNM Productions specializes in drum sessions and drum recording. We offer different vintage and custom drum kits, including iconic brands like Gretsch and Ludwig, plus an arsenal of over 50 snare drums. All our custom kits are supplied by TRS Custom Drums. The Process
Pre-Production:
Before we hit record, we’ll work closely with you to refine your songs. This includes arranging the song, experimenting with different structures, solidifying individual parts, and making sure the key and arrangement complement the vocals. We’ll help you fine-tune transitions, add “glue” elements to connect sections and create charts or guides for musicians if needed.
Tracking:
We typically start with the rhythm section (drums, bass, guitar/keys), then layer in other instruments and vocals. Our focus is on capturing high-quality performances and a tight groove, as these elements form the bedrock of your song. If the band knows the arrangement well and has rehearsed the song, all parts being recorded will be “keeper” tracks.
Overdubs:
This is where you add those special touches that give your songs depth and character. Guitar solos, vocal harmonies, extra percussion – we’ll layer in the elements that make your music unique. By laying down other instruments one at a time, we can really concentrate on getting excellent performance tracks.
Mixing:
We’ll blend all the recorded tracks, balancing levels, adding effects, and creating a polished sound. We’ll work closely with you to achieve the sonic vision you have for your music. This can take as long as the tracking itself, as we carefully edit and refine each element to ensure a cohesive and impactful final mix.
Mastering:
The final step! We’ll master your project in-house, ensuring your music is optimized for all listening formats. This includes refining the overall tonal balance, enhancing loudness, and ensuring consistency across all tracks. Our mastering process adds the final polish and prepares your music for duplication and distribution.
